Hi, hope you’re all having a great Easter!
So, it’s been almost 2 weeks since I started this blog! I am determined to keep on going with it although unfortunately my posts will be infrequent because I am neck-deep in revision for my final exams. Reading however is still a priority and I currently have 3 books on the go; The Soulkeepers by G.P Ching, Black Rabbit Summer by Kevin Brooks and The Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. I hope to share my thoughts with you when I’ve finished them (which may or may not be in a long while).
Anyway, I saw a poll on Goodreads a few days ago – Do you highlight? You know, on e-readers. Or maybe you take a physical lurid pink, yellow or green highlighter to your books (I hope not). I am the proud owner of a Kindle and yes, yes I do highlight. Answering the poll made me realise that once I have laboriously clicked my way up and across a page to highlight a phrase, I do not look back at it. Now this phrase had to be something attention grabbing, thought-provoking, beautiful, a piece of trivia maybe. It was something I wanted to remember.
Now I have a blog I thought it may make for interesting reading to share a highlight with you now and again, giving me the opportunity to muddle over why on earth I would have chosen to highlight a certain phrase in the first place.
For this post I’ve chosen something which I’m pretty confident some of you will recognise so I won’t tell you where it’s from right away.
“I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once”
I just think this line is lovely, really really lovely. Would you have made the effort to highlight this? Actually, do you even highlight or perhaps you have a notebook where you jot things down? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
